As I've said previously, my siblings hate Powerpuff. Despite having never seen it more then a few glances.
Today, circa 6:00, my sis asked to borrow my computer, a iMac, for 10 mins to draft up a birthday party invitation. This was fine, as I had to do some music revision elsewhere. I brought up Microsoft Word for her...
And up came my minimized document: The Powerpuff Girls Movie 3 Outline (starting sometime late this Summer, hopefully)
You see, I keep most of my current fiction works, both original and fanfiction, open but minimized, as I often add bits here and there even when I'm not really working on them.
So, by the time I got it back down, she had definitely seen the title, and possibly even brief glances of the character list and chapter breakdowns. I put up a blank document for her, and left, before closing it off.
She didn't mention it thereafter.
Later I said, and I paraphrase here: "Cathy, what you saw on the computer earlier... can you forget it happened?"
She paused briefly, trying to remember. All she could remember was that it had to do with Powerpuff. She shrugged, saying she didn't care. Following her down the hallway, I said what I thought: "Cathy, I don't mind too much that you don't like the show. All I ask is that your respect my decision to like it, and refrain from openly bashing it or related aspects. Do that, and I'll stop quoting Mojo in front of you... despite how funny he is!"
After an "And..." I added in Fuzzy Lumpkins too.
Not exactly a truce... but it's certainly a step in the right direction!
