Am now in Mykonos! It is everything that I imagined. It is soooo white! All the buildings are small and white, you can't distinguish them all! The town is so small but bustling with life, and we arrived by ferry from the port of Pireus in Athens at 11.30am on Monday, and we didnt know where to go because there are no street signs, so we took along a map with us and guesstimated where we were going, and accidentally stumbled across our hotel....it wasnt even on the street we thought it was going to be on! It is really nice - the first one we have had with air-conditioning, which feels so nice.
GUESS WHAT! WE HAVE A SCOOTER! We are driving around the island in a motorised scooter. It is 25 euro per day. Its fun to drive - it is like driving a Vespa in Sydney. It gets very windy though, might have to start wearing sunglasses as well cuz it bites the eyes.
Anyway, we went to the beach today. The sand is actually gravel, and it isnt as picturesque as I thought. We are going to go to another beach tomorrow to see if that one is better. The amazing thing is though is the party atmosphere! There are huge bars/clubs right by the beach, and when we got there at 5pm, people everywhere were dancing in their swimmers and the music was blaring! It was crazy!
Men are in g-strings dancing on the bars.....theres the beaches that have waiters bring you alcohol and food. Great fun but v.expensive!
Off to Ibiza on Sunday! Gawd...
