Everybody I've been speaking to have been in the throes of paranoia and terror, but I don't happen to see much else different than what's been happening since I arrived. It's simply in a... let's say, a more obvious fashion. Apples have fallen in our Eden, and the serpents are out to kill. That's heavy handed symbolism if I've ever seen it ( Read more... )

avoidance is the best way to adapt, bibles scare me, run awayyy, girls just wanna have fun, y so srs?

I like the way you think.

You know, I wasn't expecting anybody to, so my thanks for the vote of confidence.

It's nice to see optimism so you're welcome.

Then we are of the same mind. I haven't seen your writing around before. Do you happen to have a name?

I think it's a pretty good time to be careful, Grift. I hadn't really thought of that symbolism, though. Makes me wonder what else is coming.

I actually agree with you. The journals shouldn't be used to discuss this stuff. In terms of that, we really should keep it to ourselves.

That's good advise. Enjoy the little things. Let me know how that goes. Also, the burgers here are really great. If you get the chance, ask Medium along. She really knows her way around the place.

I'd say we ought to go to the bookstore and whip out a Bible, but I'm afraid that's not within the realm of possibility at this point in time.

I'll have to do that, then. I haven't had one since I arrived here, and really, that's a travesty if I'd ever heard of one.

Yeah. Another reason to be careful.

I have to agree, Grift. Why are you waisting time writing in this journal when you could have a mouthful of burger?

You're very right! But, you see, I must wait for the opportune moment. This occasion calls for the perfect atmosphere, the perfect conditions!

And to add upon my gluttony, I find myself guilty of the sin of slothfulness at this particular moment as well. But it's mostly the circumstantial thing.

I think I understand how you feel, but I don't agree at all. It's nice to relax and take a break when you need it, but ignoring what's going on doesn't make it better. I agree some people need to be more careful though.

I said nothing about ignoring it. No matter how you look at it, that's impossible unless you're blind, deaf and dumb. You can hardly go for a walk without hearing or seeing something. All I'm saying is that not everybody can fight, and not every can be - or wants to be - a hero.

Maybe I'm misreading you then. It seemed fairly laid back to tell everyone not to worry and to go eat burgers instead.

Ah, yes. I said that I was going to go eat a burger myself. I'd advise others to eat whatever culinary decadence of their choosing.

I will admit that my outlook is a laid back one, yes. Consider it a message to those who are too weak or afraid to respond to every anonymous posting and every mystery.

Given what happened, I feel that a little paranoia on my part is justified.

But 'make the best of it' is probably what I will have to do from now on.

Fred, right? Yes, for you, it's probably more safe than appropriate, even. I'm simply speaking to the masses who haven't been... eaten. Which must have been extremely unpleasant, and I'm sorry to hear that had to happen to you.

Glad to hear it.

Yes, that's correct, though I'm afraid I don't know who you are by the writing.

Thankfully I do not remember the actual 'being eaten' part, though the roof falling on me was rather painful.

Well. I know a hint when it eats me. [Completely blacked out after a few seconds.]

How rude of me to have forgotten! I'm Grift. We met... briefly, not underneath the best of conditions, I'm afraid. The bartender.

I would imagine so, but it's lucky that you don't have to remember the more unsavoury part.

This place doesn't believe in the three strikes routine. I trust that you and Ross'll take a bit more care.

dude Grift. When Bubbles is agreeing with you, you're screwed. bubble_ditz October 4 2009, 17:50:09 UTC
Oh you are soooo right, whoever you are! As terrifying as terror is, we must remember that we are stronger than this and goodness always prevails!! &hearts Things will turn out right in the end, I'm sure of it.

Although burgers are quite fattening, maybe you should consider a salad instead?

That's all we can hope for, Miss. I appreciate your optimism. I'm Grift, and it's a pleasure to meet you. May I be so bold as to inquire your name?

I did say damn the calorie content for a reason. One won't kill me.
