Why we can't have nice things
I'm kinda hoping the insanity over Wonder Woman will die down. Costume changes happen, people. This isn't as cute as her mod days, but let it go. God forbid she wear pants. Or, as Fox News complained, be less patriotic. I've never understood the uberpatriotic look for a Greek myth themed hero anyway.
Change, good or bad, freaks out the fans. Even when they're not even reading the title. If everyone who is freaking out about the costume (and to the much lesser extent, the retcon) actually bought and read the title, Wonder Woman would be a far more successful title than it is.
This is why the mainstream comics have infinite continuity errors. Why no change ever lasts, no death ever remains not overturned. Because fans freak out. It's not about telling stories that grow and change. It's about nostalgia and icons.
I'm personally praying that Dick Grayson stays Batman a while longer.
