Slowly, I am learning that I can in fact cook meat without giving everyone food poisoning.
I still really need to get a meat thermometer so I can confidently take things off the grill before they're overcooked. The steaks the other day were not gray and overdone but they were not as pink as I might have liked. Futurehubby was pleased as punch since he prefers his steak that way, so it worked out fine for him. Whereas once upon a time, if there was the slightest blush to my meat I'd cringe, I'm starting to like it on the medium side.
Also in the land of kitchen adventures (but unrelated to how I cooked the steaks, of course), the microwave that came with the apartment doesn't work. Fun fun.
