Are you happy? Are you satisfied? How long can you stand the heat?

There's so much hate for the Philippines right now. I am appalled, needless to say, yet I can't really say that this was unexpected. Flags today are at half mast, which should have happened yesterday, in my opinion. It doesn't give a good impression of our grief to the world.

Anyhoo ... here's some interesting news:

From CNN:
In Hong Kong, flags flew at half-staff and radio talk shows were abuzz with criticism of authorities in the Philippines. The word "incompetent" was repeatedly heard.

I know this is just another blog, but let it be at least, in verbatim, that it's not only Hong Kong who feels the police force here is incompetent. We feel the same way. It's been like that for the longest time.

If they're outraged, we feel the same too. The difference is this - we feel outraged, and at the same time, we have to deal with the backlash of their outrage. So it's like being angry and ashamed at the same time.

Another interesting article:
“The fact that there was essentially live video was mistake No. 1,” said assistant professor John Harrison, a homeland security analyst at the Nanyang Technological University in Singapore.

Media, you fail so much. You should think again if you really are doing your job "in the service of the Filipino worldwide" or if you really stand by what you say that you're a station that provides "serbisyong totoo lamang". Bullshit! Because of your douchebaggery the EPIC!FAIL of our police force was shown on CNN and BBC for all the world to see. (And I particularly blame ABS-CBN, because CNN got their live feed from ANC. They should have thought of delaying the freaking broadcast.) Ultimately, they were just there to fatten their pockets and inflate their egos.

So, now we know what the President did while he was in hiding.
Apparently, he took his time. I would have wanted to be more visible in instances like these. Like, if I compare it to the tyanak Gloria, I'd make them feel my presence so hard that it will be like the time the APV rammed through the main lobby of The Peninsula.

fail, politics, bwiset
