And that pretty much sums up the ending of Escaflowne. Rewatch completed.
This series really isn't for the young of mind and heart, cause I never really understood the depth of the story until my last rewatch (which was when, two years ago or more?) and it was only in this recent rewatch that I got to dig in the series' underlying themes.
Now that this rewatch is done, I love how the series explored on the themes of destiny and intertwined it with luck, love, predestination and the ability (or inability) to change a preordained fate. Before I was inclined to believe in a foreordained fate - like all of what's happening to my life has already been written down by a divine being, and we are at war with said divine being to change that destiny, or to gain control of it.
What I realized later on is that we have control of our own destinies, hence free will, so this "war" with changing our fates shouldn't be waged in the first place. It was, and has always been, always up to us. I think that's why human beings have the ability to wish and dream. If everything was foreordained, then why bother focusing your energies on wishing for something more than this?
Oh, and War of the Better Older Brother has been decided last night.
FOLKEN WINS. On account of his darker personality and epic black wings. And, best of all, he dies. YEAH! \m/

AVATAR THE LEGEND OF KORRA. So, it's finally confirmed! So here's a series to look forward to and download next year. I wonder though how many of the original gang will be alive in this story, since it's just been 70 years after the original storyline ended.
There's rumors that Fire Lord Zuko and Azula are still alive (they'd be damn old if they were). I'm actually very interested to know how Tenzin looks like (being Aang and Katara's son). And, since he is an airbender, ZOMG YES AANG IS NO LONGER THE LAST AIRBENDER! The bending art lives!

Tomorrow, I will go home early and go straight to Powerbooks. I hope the sale isn't over. *crosses fingers*

So, what will the next rewatch project be? Hmmmmmm ...
