River trekking, among other things

Last time I did this was high school, during COCC. Although this was work, it was a lot of fun.

A river flows through the campus. It's about a five minute walk from the main grounds. I was asked to tag along in preparation for a camp that is set to happen on April.

I was the only female in the expedition, and I had five male escorts companions. Notice the unusual attire - long sleeves and jogging pants while my companions are wearing t-shirts and shorts. Atopic derm for epic attire choice fail. I also had sunblock on, just to be sure. The weather cooperated during our trek.

My slippers got dragged away by the current two times, and if weren't for one of the guys holding my hand I would have dived face first into waist-deep water after tripping on some random rock. This would have been so much easier if I had combat boots on, instead of Ipanemas. XD In this pic, notice that I'm only wearing one slipper. I'm wondering where the other one was during this time, but I got my pair safe and sound out of the river. XD

This was where we ended our trek. This place we're standing on used to be a catch basin, but due to the major storms the water level receded; I guess it was also because of sediment buildup too.

After this trek we emerged with empty stomachs, so we had a power lunch in a Chinese restaurant outside Laguna Technopark.

No classes today, so I'm still here in Manila.

It gets even better. My leave for tomorrow was approved, so I go back to Laguna on Wednesday. =D

Yesterday I bought green and purple stud earrings and a pair of silver studs for my second earring holes. It's been five weeks since I got my ears pierced so it's safe to use other earrings now.

I'm not yet done with the 2009 PinoyWrimo anthology. I'm wondering if I should include this particular chapter, which I think needs a rewrite. XD I think I make myself suffer way too much.

And speaking of writing projects, the move from chimera___ to this LJ still isn't complete. Backlog, I hate you with a passion.
