FYI: How to Clean Your Crystals

Mar 16, 2009 10:41

There are several ways to clean your crystals. Water, smudging, Quartz cluster, visualization, salt, or Crystal Clear.

Water:
Salt water:
Most crystals enjoy being immersed in the ocean for an hour or so, after which they can be rinsed in pure water and allowed to air dry in the sun. A handful of sea salt dissolved in water works just as well.
Flowing water:
Holding the crystal under a waterfall, in a stream, or beneath a faucet will rapidly cleanse the energies. Allow to air dry in the sun.

Smudging:
Hold the crystal in smoke from sage, cedar, or sweetgrass smudge stick or use incense. A feather can be used to fan the smoke gently across the crystal.

Quartz cluster:
Stand the crystal on a large cluster of Quartz or other energizing crystal for approximately 12 hours. Stones that have a natural affinity with the moon can be left in moonlight, while those that empathize with the sun will benefit from the sunlight.

Visualization:
Visualize a column of pure white or golden light coming down to surround the crystal, cleansing and transmuting the energies. Hold that thought until the crystal energy shines out once more.

Crystal Clear:
A few drops of Crystal Clear in the washing water or sprayed from an atomizer will clear any negativity and restore the energy of the crystal.

Salt:
Delicate or friable stones that would be harmed by water can be placed directly into salt or rock-salt crystals and left there for a few hours to cleanse themselves.
