Been away from the internet since the day before Thanksgiving. I’m cutting this for length. Under the cut there is talk of family, movies, NaNo, Death Note, and the Twilight saga.

There was, of course, the family stuff and National Stuff Yourself Stupid day. I started cooking at 4 p.m. on Wednesday. We watched Hancock on Wednesday night. It was slightly better than just being okay. It wasn’t awesome though. 3 out of 5 stars.

I finished NaNo that night after I put the turkey in the oven. 50,301 words. The story isn’t finished and it has some serious issues that need to be addressed before its readable but... meh. I finished Twilight, which I started reading (again) on Monday night, and finally got to sleep at around 4ish Thursday morning. Then mom made me get up at 8 to find an open store to buy some eggs and bread for breakfast. My whole family came over on Wednesday night and we ran out of both. So, I get home and mom says that we’ll just have lunch early. *grumble* I found out my aunt is also a Twilight fangirl. I use the term girl loosely because she’s in her 60's.

On Thursday, I read New Moon and then Friday I read Eclipse. I took a break on Friday, briefly, to take the boys to see Bolt in 3D. Which was a really cute flick. 4 out of 5 stars. I had finally convinced my boys to go see Twilight with me but it was getting dark so we raced home (30 miles) to get the dogs in before the coyotes could get them.

On Saturday, the boys and I went to go see Twilight. I was pleased to see that the theater was full. Not packed, like on opening weekend but pretty close. Daniel fell asleep in the first 5 minutes but woke up in time to see Vampire baseball. David, who was giving me the most resistance to seeing it, sat riveted to the edge of his chair for the whole movie. Go figure. Then we went to Candyopolis, which is exactly what it sounds like, and they filled up a bag each with candy.
Yes, I bribed my kids to see (and be quiet through) Twilight. There was a woman (probably in her 40's) who sat behind us in the theater who said that this was the 7th time she’d seen it. Now, I don’t feel so bad.

After finishing Breaking Dawn on Saturday, I decided that I liked it better after the second reading.
Sunday, we watched Death Note anime, eps. 10-19, and then David put in the first Death Note movie. They fell asleep about 20 minutes in. I think they are awesome because given a choice between watching regular tv and watching anime, they chose to read the tv for the whole afternoon. Besides, I think its funny to hear them trying to sing along in Japanese to the theme song.

After 3 days of turkey and dressing, I was tired of it so I chopped up the turkey and used the leftover mashed potatoes and made a kind of shepherd’s pie. It turned out so good, I brought some for lunch today. This is why we only have turkey once a year though. I can only do so much.

I should have watched The Incredible Hulk last night so I could send it back today but instead I played a demo of SceneIt! for the Xbox 360 which I want to buy now and then Assassin’s Creed. No holiday would be complete without some senseless violence, right?

Back to work.

my kids are so cool, bibliophile, movies, twilight, video games, death note, family, fangirl
