I am having sugared ginger with my tea.
It is the most delicious thing ever.
So I was just talking to a friend over msn about how she's going to the Big Day Out. The Big Day Out here in Australia is pretty much our most popular and largest musical festival and incredible international artists come to play. Being a passionate music fan and a concert-goer, I checked their website out of curiosity, just to see who was playing and who said friend was going to see.
Fuck.
Man.
Tool.
Is going to be playing andasklryjlarejuaklejulaj94yjwjhmh GODDAMNIT.
I am a pretty huge fan of Maynard Keenan OH GOD I love all his music projects, his vocals are out of this world and his lyrics are heartbreakingly bitter and incredible. TOOL man. Tool is one of the most talented and amazing bands in the world - even if their more hardcore heavy/metal stuff isn't to my taste, THEY themselves as a band just pour awesome. I just.... this is the kind of artist who you NEED to see. You don't want to see them, you don't have a passing fancy of dropping by their stage. This is the kind of moment where your musical idol steps up onto that platform and rocks the entire world with his bras, floaties, wigs and cowboy hats.
oh Tool ilu. I have absolutely no idea what you're doing but it looks awesome nonetheless.

As well as that, apparently they're going to be having a side stop at Brisbane, the city just north from the Big Day Up. It takes about 3 hours to drive there from where I live, maybe a bit more.
The tickets go on sale on the 8th of this month. My best friend is also going to see Muse at the same concert venue, roughly a month and a half before Tool and goddamn, Muse are great too.
I will be so disappointed if I can't go see them. I respect Maynard like whoa and truth be told I love his music because it inspires and fuels my novel. There's just something about it that is the IMAGE I have in my head of the setting, the feeling, the characters, the drive. ughhhhhh.
Although thinking about it Tool has some incredibly retarded fans, from what I've heard. Both the kind who worship the band and others who are just nuts. hmmm I'm not so keen about moshing with people like that.
I will admit that I would take A Perfect Circle or Puscifer over Tool - both being Maynard's side projects - just because that music is more in line with my genre taste. I'm more alt rock than prog rock. But maybe. Maybe some day. Those bands will come play too. I mean, APC is on hiatus but you can still wish right?
On other related notes, I finally got together my formal/prom gear, including my dress. While I've heard that others have spent upwards of a thousand dollars on their dress, I spent 45$. Ahahaha win I'macheapskate. All you need is enough accessories to make it look good. I'd take some photos, because I'm all makeup'd and dress to see how it all matches, but my hair needs washing and it's all greasy. :) I got some up super cute pink nailpolish too, but because I tear my nails there's nothing really there to put it on ahah.
It all feels very strange though. I'm not particularly a girly girl and never wear dresses because I feel incredibly self conscious in them - I'm more of a jeans/tshirt kind of person. It is nice to dress up occasionally though.
While I was shopping with my mother for clothes we went into EB Games - our local gaming store - and I mentioned that my ex is trying to get me a preowned DS. Unwound Future was there! So I had a quick peek at it and mentioned that I wanted it because it was so great (and I was looking next to a mother and her kid and secretly thought to myself "HEY YOU SHOULD GET THIS GAME LOOK I'M LOOKING AT IT AND SAYING ITS GREAT THIS
MEANS THAT YOU SHOULD GET IT BECAUSE MY TASTE MUST BE AWESOME(??????)) Strangely enough it was the PAL/UK version, Lost Future, instead of Unwound Future, which I guess I shouldn't be surprised about. We ARE Australia after all and we always get the UK versions. I'm wondering if this is good or bad because I rather liked the US version sadface.jpg.
I saw the promotion displays for WoW: Cataclysm which is cool. I'm a big Blizzard fan and I play WoW casually (and when I say casually I mean SUPER casually, like, a couple of hours a week lately .__.)for free on a private server, so this expansion is relevant to my interests. I wonder when my server will be getting the upgrade - I'm super excited to try out the new races, especially the goblins because I love goblins and, yknow, for the horde and all.
