Oh dear god.
I am in St. Petersburg.
It's amazing here, but damn is it difficult to get around in the language! I don't have all that much time, so let me tell you a little of everything!
Carbon-Based Life:
Well, there's a lot of people and a few birds here, but that's it. The people are nice, even though everyone says otherwise. They might not look happy all the time, but I think that you can gain an understanding of why that is by looking at Russia's history. They also don't treat each other te way we do. I mean, there's not the same type of masking going on, they leave that to the government...
Sustenance:
Well, the air here is ineresting at 90%+ humidity. Although, it's okay since it's not hot, it's really cold. But the air, nice to breathe, althouh I don't know that my lungs know what to do with it all! The food is fine and while they don't put many spices in it, it still tastes good. The only thing that wierds me out is the fish, which doesn't seem completely cooked... Silly Russians! Oh, and all ya'll that have had Babushka's blinchiki, they do so much with them here, it's insane! I love them with thestrawberry-peach jam, but with apples, or bananas and chocolate, or what-have-you, they are amazing! Still haven't tried one with meat and potatoes and such, but that's okay.
School is great, family is only one older woman and a German graduate student, and they are great! Sorry, out of time, more soon!
