ZOMG, working computer!
It seems I had temporarily forgotten the giddy excitement when Dragon speak first worked, but I remember now. Oh yes. SQUEEEEE!!! I can write again! Without issue or pain! And very nearly every word that comes out of my mouth, it recognizes first time! ... Nearly, I did say.
Koi ordered me a new computer - halfway through November, granted, so working on Nano is going to be a bit... rushed - But at least I can now! It took longer than I'd hoped, but they did deliver it on a Saturday, which seemed unlikely, and we got it set up and installed Dragon speak and finally found a headset that works... This computer works so beautifully that the long recognition times are cut very short. I'd gotten used to the long lag time, waiting several seconds, sometimes up to a minute for the program to figure out what I'd said, so this instantaneous reaction is remarkable.
Maybe now I can finally start writing again. (I know I say that every time. I still mean it!)
