I've been intending to watch Kino no Tabi (Kino's Journey) for a long time. I'd seen the first episode when it was originally being fansubbed, but it didn't hook my interest then. However, I'd heard a lot of good things about it so when I saw that I could get it, I decided why not

I think Kino is around her mid-teens. (And yes, I love it too)

I've been reading the novels a bit....so far, nothing more than what's shown in the series itself concerning Kino's past, I think. But a lot of countries and stuff...and that Shizu prince guy gets his own short interlude every now and then.
