I was thinking about having an Open Thread maybe once a month (first Friday of every month?), but we'll see how it goes biweekly. (I just checked and the other Open Thread was only eight posts ago, lol.)

Well, I might as well jump on the "share music" bandwagon then.

But holy crap, Cziffra. With any instrument, you have your contest winners, and then on a step up you have your touring soloists, and then waaaaay above that you have your virtuosos. Dayum.
In the piano vein, Hiromi Uehara: she writes her own music with a lot of experimentation, and can seriously key-mash.

Lol, I have a Piazzolla Greatest Hits AND both Silk Road CDs. Piazzolla is indeed awesome. I personally prefer Oblivion, but Yo-yo Ma definitely adds to the greatness of Libertango. If you like classical music check out his concerto for bandoneon. It blew my mind the first time I heard it.
