I'm usually pretty out of the loop re: news about the rest of the K-pop world, SM Town included--I like my little SNSD bubble, thank you, as such isolation keeps me in a happy place--but
WTF,
KangIn? This is the second time he was driving under the influence and got into an accident?
Uh. Wow. I wonder if SM will take action and what those actions will be. They could have brushed off a one-time incident, but a second one? It's Bad Press for KangIn, SM and SM's other artists who suffer by association even if they've got nothing to do with KangIn's behavior. I'm not sure SM can just sweep this under the rug, which could mean big consequences for KangIn (and possibly sanctions on his fellow artists that we won't hear about). =/ Which is saying nothing about what's going on with KangIn himself: Either KangIn is having too much fun or he's in a bad way to be hitting the booze so hard.
*jumps back into SNSD bubble*
Speaking of, SNSD made their way to Hanoi, Vietnam to perform at a concert celebrating relations between Korea and Vietnam. Before that they were looking dog-tired as they received an award at the Ceremony of Culture (TaeYeon, Jessica, Sunny, Tiffany, HyoYeon, YoonA) and participated in the Hope TV Walking Festival (YuRi, SooYoung, SeoHyun)--after YuRi and Sunny had just spent two days recording "Invicible Youth"--and then SeoHyun performed at the Forest of Dreams Festival. Afterwards they all hopped onto a plane to Vietnam (with the exception of YuRi) and arrived to . . . a mob.
Good God. All the fancams that have come out of their arrival at the airport are just . . . wow. I'd've been scared. If I'd been one of their managers, I'd've been scared for the safety of my charges. I think it would've been scary whether you were one of the girls or a fan. I mean, yes, good that the girls had a big reception. Not good that it was pushing, shoving, shouting, rushing madness. I'm sure no one expected it to be that crazy or that there would be that many people--security definitely didn't.
And just considering how crazy their schedules have been, I really have no idea how SNSD is supposed to have any energy to actually promote a second album.
SNSD at Vietnam-Korea Friendship Festival ("Genie" + interview). Good luck trying to hear over the crowd, though. They also performed
"Gee" and
"Heal the World" (avid fan alert at the end! Jessica was probably like, "WTF?"). There are other fancams floating around but this has the interview part. If you're seeking more fancams, hit up soompi. But since we all know how much I love BTS footage, here's a
rehearsal fancam.
