Congratulations to Michael Bay, who now has the dubious honour of being the only film-maker with two entries in my Top 10 worst films I have ever seen.
T:RoF is absolute crap and were I to give it a score out of 10 it would barely scrape a 1 which would entirely be for special effects.
Keep in mind in the same 48 hours I watched T:RoF, I also rewatched Death Race 2000, The Running Man and Conan the Barbarian. (Thanks to parents Foxtel.) All of the aforementioned dodgy films have better scripts, action, acting, dialogue and direction, heck even more inciteful social commentary than the appalling crap which is T:RoF.
I could rant for quite a bit more on how crap this film was on many levels, however, I think this is the interesting one most people will miss:
http://www.newgrounds.com/portal/view/285267 This is a more accurate depiction of Optimus Prime than the movies, if you cannot notice how Optimus is different to every other character mentioned in that you really shouldn't bother arguing.
But to go easy on those who are considering the movies as a separate cannon.
First movie, Optimus: "Freedom is the right of all sentient beings."
Second movie, Jetfire: "Decepticon/Autobot, its a just a choice."
Second movie, Optiumus Prime executes a defeated and disabled Decepticon (Demolisher), who previous to being attacked was neither hurting anyone nor breaking any laws I could work out (working without a visa perhaps?)
So clearly "Freedom is the right of all sentient beings who dont have an ideological disagreement with me."
