Terminator Salivation

Ok this film was actually pretty damn good, right up until the point John Conner meets up with the "Arnie" T-800 and Marcus starts chatting with Skynet.

The plot holes were no greater than the previous films and even Skynet knowing about John Connor before he defeats them paradox can be explained away as information tortured from a captured human/stolen off radio broadcasts. The computers know enough about psychology to understand the importance of killing a symbol to the resistance etc etc..

Haven't worked one out for the resistance base which was full of fail and illogic though.

Anyhow back to my original point, at this scene what should of happened is:

T-800 kills John Connor in 2 seconds flat, I would suggest a scene similar to T1 where Arnie kills the punks for their clothes by punching a hole through them.

Marcus who has just had his flesh remoulded and is talking to Skynet sees this (horrified expression) then strangely agrees with Skynet "Yes I am the perfect infiltration machine, just like you said. However, killing John Connor wont stop the resistance, but John Connor can stop the resistance." (This had already been proven when he told the army to stand down from the generals orders) He then gets his flesh re-sculpted to look like John Connor, rescues Kyle Reese and rejoins the resistance with some explosions along the way.

Film ends. Audience is left wondering who is "John Connor" now really loyal to. Anticipation for sequel (which is getting made anyhow) goes through the roof and they will actually have a plot to work with beyond; "Evil robots take over the world, humans blow shit up."

Apparently the original ending to the film was the Terminator taking John's place anyhow so may well have been close to what im suggesting, which really pisses me off because its annoying seeing potential missed, its even more so when the awesome was waved in their face and dismissed.

Sam Worthington did a pretty damn good job btw and I expect on the basis of this performance he will be getting quite a few more action roles.
