Friday night boredom has led to Friday night cleanfest for several weeks now. I rarely feel like doing crazy things on Friday nights. I cook myself dinner, watch TV, and then get bored of that. Next comes the cleaning. It soothes my guilt and worry that we will not get all of the security deposit back. I pretty much desperately need that money, since I am double paying rent for 2 months in Chicago and New York. Oh, and I'm moving to New York. This is a very expensive endeavor.
But, of course, it's my choice and I'm happy with it. I looked on the CPS hr website for music openings in Chicago, just out of curiosity. There were 5 high school band jobs I would've applied for. And I feel like I probably would have had an offer from at least 1 of those schools. KIPP is still a better school, and this move makes sense. I could've continued living in Chicago happily. I probably would've done one more year at West Park, then taken a year off to go to grad school full-time at Northwestern. Or at least investigated the high school jobs in CPS.
So here I am, in my clean apartment listening to planes make their final descent to O'Hare. I hope my next apartment isn't on anyone's flight path.
