So, I got my passport in the mail yesterday... realized it this morning. I'm highly amused by my picture.
For those who haven't gone through the process of getting an USA passport, they ask you to take a picture on a white background, get it cropped to make your face a certain size, and submit it with your passport application.
They then normalize the picture before actually creating the passport.
My "normalized" picture is... very pink. Not merely the almost flourescent pink of my cheeks in normal pictures (which has been faded to "too much blusher in the photo), but all-over-sunburned pink. I do not have a sunburn in my original picture. And... the (white) wall behind me is an even darker pink.
That's right. Not all "white" people have the same undertones. They account for the usual pinkish white people, and yellowish white people... but evidently, my blue-ness is unacceptable, and must be normalized out. So now, at least on my passport, I'm Muppet-pink coloured.
Me and Miss Piggy.
Also. I'm wearing my new... are they still shoes when no one looking at them will recognize them as such? The Vibram FiveFingers. They make my stubby toes very stubby looking.
