Too much time on my hands

So, I've been working 36-hour weeks for the past nine weeks. This will continue for a while depending on the economy. Since my 40-hour schedule had already included three hours overtime per week, I am able to put in 36 hours in only four days and have Fridays off.

The first couple of Fridays I went golfing with my boss. He was also putting in some overtime every week and now has Fridays off as well. It's easy to do the math though and realize that if you're making less, you really shouldn't be spending more. I won't not be playing golf, I just won't be playing more.

The next few Fridays though I did nothing. Literally nothing. I vegged in front of my computer pretty much all day. Didn't go running or doing any exercises. Again, it doesn't take much to realize that isn't a good way to spend time. Probably a little depressed if truth be told.

Then came Imagicon weekend. I could go for next to nothing and hangout with the Play-On-Con crowd (conal_cearna, ro_dan, steph74, silly_filly, etc.) It certainly beat the previous few Fridays. Imagicon was a little disorganized being that it was a first-year con, but it has some potential.

I really don't recall the Friday between Imagicon and Frolicon. I probably picked back up on the running that week (jic). Frolicon was another Friday better spent than staying at home. Overall that weekend I didn't spend half as much time with the people I wanted to see--except for Alex. Back when the Combat Grannies were only doing sound for one room at Frolicon, Alex and I would be at the parties together from 7:00pm on. At this Frolicon she came to see me while I was working and after work (say between 1:30 and 5:00am) we wandered through the parties that were still open.

The last couple of Friday's I spent at least some time running and exercising. This week I've had a cold. When I woke up this morning feeling uncongested, I was glad such awesome weather wouldn't be wasted. Went out for a random run somewhere between four and four-and-a-half miles. Took my shirt off for most of the run. Don't usually do that but I thought I could stand a little sun :)

The Georgia Renaissance Festival is open weekends until the first weekend in June. I went both days on opening weekend. Tomorrow will be spent there with my sister and our friend Jack Bagley. Jack is a local TV/radio personality whom we've known since high school. Jack has lost 40-50 pounds since I last saw him and I am curious to see how he looks. It was dieting, not some medical problem, so it's all good--I hope. Looking forward to other friends coming to the fair on May 9th.

Two cons are happening on back-to-back weekends at the end of May. One is mostly work and the other is completely for fun. The remaining weekends of fair are open. I need to go a couple of Sundays and go to LaFi afterwards. The final weekend I'll go at least one day.
