Outward bound
It has come down to use-it-or-lose-it on the vacation calendar so I have decided to make a trip to see my grandfather and parents in Nebraska. I will be leaving on the 3rd and returning on the 11th. I've been meaning to go and my cousin Rick's 25th Wedding Anniversary on the 4th gives me a good reason.(First and second weekend of October accounted)
The remaining three days of vacation mean I will not be working a single Friday during October. My company was trying four day work weeks during July and August. It was working well for me, but not so much for others. I was hoping they would make it optional but instead that went back to five days for everyone. In October though it will be up to me:) I will be gaming with friends either in Newnan, Atlanta, or both! with my first long weekend. (Third weekend accounted)
Towards the end of the month it will be up to Charlotte for the Carolina Renaissance Festival. It has a slightly different atmosphere than GARF, but I have enjoyed going the past couple of years. Taking Friday off instead of driving up late makes Saturday much more enjoyable. The only regret is having to depart early on Sunday. I may take Monday as a comp day, it hasn't been decided yet. The only negative for this trip is that my nephew has other plans for the weekend so we will not be sharing the driving and expenses. (Fourth weekend accounted)
Rarely do I have plans so far in advance, so I thought it deserved a little notation.
