We're keeping a weather eye on Hurricane Earl. At least it's been downgraded to a Level 3. We're right at the edge of a "red zone" (high threat) and soundly in the yellow ("medium threat"). But we're on high ground, above the area that would have to be evacuated if worse came to worse. And the flood gates are strong. We should see the storm on

I learned a lot from it....like tap water will keep indefinately in a plastic bottle as long as you keep it out of the sun and how to keep a room warmer by using a black bin bag to capture solar heat.

Del's is a local phenomenon. It used to be Rhode Island only, but now can be found in other parts of New England.

Here's hoping Earl continues to get down-graded as he comes up the coast, though, if he brought a cool breeze with him I might be inclined to be more gracious... at least today.
