"Drop the badger."

Sunny today, and hot. Our high was 93F, with a heat index of 97F.

This morning I set the novella aside and did 1,013 words on a new vignette, as yet untitled, for Sirenia Digest 219. It's something that's been in my head for months. Later, I began work on the signature pages for Bright Dead Star, but made it only about a third of the way through the stack. I'll attempt to complete them tomorrow.

I was supposed to speak with Sonya tonight, but was so tired by the time we'd finished dinner, I sent her an email begging off. Maybe tomorrow night. Still, tired or not, it wasn't a bad day. I even stepped outside briefly.

We've finished The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel for the third time. Well, the whole of it for the third time. There are some seasons we've seen more than that. It's truly wonderful and seems moreso each time I see it. As, I suspect, the so-called "Platinum Age of Television" begins to draw (or has drawn) to its close, The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel could be no better way to wrap things up. If you have not seen it, do.

The afternoon's film was James Gunn's Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 (2023). It was only the second time I'd seen it, and I think I liked it better than on my first viewing. But I still think it's too long, that it needed to be tighter, and that it's the weakest of the three films.

I have got to clean this office. I can sorta live with the clutter, but the dust is another matter.

Don't forget the shop. Thank you.

Later Tater Beans,
Aunt Beast
