Mostly cloudy today, a threat of severe storms. Our high was (so far) 88F, with a heat index of 93F.
I was up at 5 a.m., by 5:15 was taking care of email, and at 5:45 a.m. I began proofreading "Black Water (Murder Ballad No. 14)." I got through it by 7, then started in on line edits, but somewhere in there, my energy and focus blew out. Which was just as well, I had to had ready for made another effort at going to my mother's to do laundry. This time, third time's the charm and all, I made it out the door, and we now have some clean clothes.
Tomorrow I'll get Sirenia Digest 207 together and out to subscribers. And I think I have a story idea for 208.
These days, on those extremely rare occasions I leave the house and we drive into Leeds, I have to keep my eyes shut until we are well away from 1-20 and its maggot ring, not looking until me we back towards 119, where Leeds still looks like Leeds.
In the lastst print issue of JVP, I read "Anatomy and phylogeny of an exceptionally large sebecid (Crocodylomorpha) from the middle Eocene of southern France."
Later,
Aunt Beast
