Hot today. Sunny and hot, with an orange air alert. Our high was 94F, with low humidity.
Desperate for some scrap of "inspiration," I pulled several Harlan Ellison and Ray Bradbury short story collections off the shelves this morning, determined to get through them over the next two or three days - I Have No Mouth and I Must Scream, Paingod and Other Delusions, From the Land of Fear, The Golden Apples of the Sun, and R is for Rocket. Today, well...all I really did was read, but I made it through the first half of The Golden Apples of the Sun:
* "The Foghorn"
* "The April Witch"
* "The Wilderness"
* "The Fruit at the Bottom of the Bowl"
* "The Flying Machine"
* "The Murderer"
* "The Golden Kite, the Silver Wind"
* "I See You Never"
* "Embroidery"
* "The Big Black and White Game"
* "The Great Wide World Over There"
* "Powerhouse"
* "En La Noche"
The afternoon's film was George Miller's Max Max: Fury Road (2015).
Please take a moment to visit
the Dreaming Squid Sundries shop, which has become an important source of income of late. Thank you.
