Another rainy day. Fog over the valley all morning and afternoon. Our high was 57˚F.
I spent the morning and early afternoon reading back through everything there is on the new Tinfoil Dossier, which I started reading yesterday. I still like it. But, as I've mentioned, before I can go back to work on it I have to get out a couple of issues of the digest. Oh, and Mike P. called and we talked a little about the next project. What I like most about the next one is there will be about five or six of us.
I slept until 8 a.m. this morning, quite by accident. I'm wanting to start getting up at 8 or 9 a.m., but...I didn't mean for it to happen so suddenly. I assume it was a fluke. I was up a little later, until about midnight. Anyway, that eight hours was likely the most I've slept at a stretch in a couple of months, and it left me disoriented all day.
The afternoon's movie was Matt Reeves' The Batman (2022). I began Lovecraft's The Dream-Quest of Unknown Kadath, which I might be able to finish tomorrow.
Big science news today. A breakthrough in fusion, and I'm
linking because this one has the potential to truly change the future. But I hope the fact that we likely can't hope fusion will become an important part of the solution of our energy needs until the 2060s or 2070s will not keep people from grasping how important this could be.
Spooky went out an found a decent little tree for only $15. And me, I'm embarrassingly homesick...for Providence. I never fucking thought that would happen, and it leaves me dumbfounded. But between the threat of anti-LGBT politics here in Alabama, the fact that I lived in Providence for ten years, and the monstrous isolation of the past three years, I shouldn't be surprised.
Please have a look at
