A little cooler today, but the worst heat so far is coming next week. The weekend is just a passing respite. Today's high was 91˚F, with a heat index of 96˚F.
I was ill all morning. I got no work done. Okay, one email. Go me.
I did finish James Ellroy's autiobiographical My Dark Places and began his novel This Storm. You could same I'm on an Ellroy bender.
I made the mistake last night of watching the first episode of Strange New Worlds, which I think it's pretty safe to say is, hands down, the worst incarnation of Star Trek ever. From the beefy dude-bro Spock to Pike's goofy ass hair. And god, what an ugly show. So, no more of that.
On the other hand, we've finished Season Two of our rewatch of The Wire and begun Season Three, so there's no shortage of good television.
And remember, Spooky's birthday is on the 24th, and she has
an Amazon wishlist, right here.
She went out for Record Store Today and got me a really nice reissue of the soundtrack from The Royal Tenenbaums on colored vinyl.
