"If there was only some kind of future."
At least the sun came back about half an hour ago, and the sky above Shades Mountain is pink. We got a cold snap, that, for this year, amounts to a veritable goddamn ice age. The high was only in the mid 40s˚F. But worry not. By Xmas day, we're gonna be back up around 70˚F.
Nope, no work today.
I thought this would be our first year without a tree since we began having our puny little Charlie Brown Xmas things round about 2014 (I think). But today Spooky went out to the Botanical Gardens and brought back an Xmas shrub, some some of pine. We put lights on it. Later, I'll add my favorite ornament (most of our ornaments are plastic dinosaurs and deep-sea critters), see photo below. When the holiday is past, we'll plant the shrub somewhere.
Two documentaries this afternoon, again two episodes of Nova, one about adding the vast Crossrail to the nightmare warren of London's subway system (that I think I might have already seen) and one about the development of supersonic flight and the Concorde.
Generally, when I trash a TV show, I like to name at least one of two things in particular that made it so fucking awful. But last night we watched suffered through the first episode of Wheel of Time, and it was so bad there's no way to single out any one thing. It just sucks, top to bottom, stem to stern. How shit like this gets made, I'll never know. Oh, wait....
