"He could only see what was not there and missed what was right in front of him."

The weather was crap today. A cold front. Overcast skies spitting rain. We made it to 68˚F this morning, or early this afternoon, but it has been falling fast. Currently, it's only 51˚F.

I did not read the three chapters of The Night Watchers that I was supposed to read and mark line edits for. The self doubt got in my way. That has to not happen again tomorrow. I cannot lose this precious momentum. I am at a place right now where it would be better it I wrote the first genuinely shitty book of my career than to write no book at all.

The afternoon's move was James Gray's Ad Astra (2019). I love this film so much, and I feel it is profoundly underappreciated.

Last night we finished Season 17 of Deadliest Catch, so we're all caught up on crabs. It's hard to believe that shows been going since 2005.
