"Well, we all shine on..."
Another hot day, though not as bad as yesterday. Our current temperature, and daily high, is 90˚F, with the heat index at 96˚F.
I'm trying hard to work. But everything I do, whether it's fiction or science, requires tremendous focus, and right now I am doing good just to stay out of bed. I see this storm or horror and chaos driving some people to work harder. I see it paralyzing others. I've spent that past eighteen months bouncing back and forth between those camps.
I wrote a few lines on one of the papers today. I read.
The afternoon's movie was the Russo brothers' Avengers: Endgame (2019).
I do not know if it's that the world has never felt this heavy, or if I'm just getting to old for this shit. Maybe it's six of one, half dozen of the other.
