"More of a beer tooth."

So, on the one hand, it was rainy and foggy again today. On the other hand, it's gonna be almost 70˚F on Christmas Day. Currently, it's 52˚F.

This morning I ran errands with Kathryn, first to the grocery store for holiday groceries, and then to the p.o.. But then I made the mistake of going to a bookstore to try and find a book. First we drove down to Reed Books, and probably they'd have had a copy of Thomas Wolf's Look Homeward, Angel, because, after all, Reed Books is an actual bookstore. But we couldn't find a place to park downtown. In the rain. Because it was the day before Christmas Eve. So...we went to the Books-A-Million where Brookwood Village used to be (don't get me started), and, well, if I'd been looking for a movie tie-in t-shirt or a Hogwarts board game or a Funko Pop! hunk-o'plastic, I'd have been in business. But a novel by Thomas Wolfe? Nope. Forget it. Not a fucking chance. And perhaps I'd feel worse about how big-box bookstores are losing out to Amazon.com - if they actually carried books. And if they hadn't murdered all the independent bookstores that sold books. Ironic, right? Anyway, we finally came home and ordered Look Homeward, Angel from...wait for it...Amazon.com.

The circle of life, motherfuckers.

Documentaries today. First, something about a forged proof copy of Galileo's Sidereus Nuncius and then something else about Percy Fawcett's doomed search for the lost city of Z. And then the Disney documentary Frank and Ollie (1995).

And so it goes.

Later,
