"Once upon a stormy night............a portrait of her". -by Lee Lill

I stop what i'm doing at the computer and begin to picture................................
The lightning reflects off her eyes providing enough light to illuminate my small corner of the world.
I picture her laid back in a rocking chair or perhaps even a swing, with her feet propped up on the railway of her porch. Maybe even perhaps a blanket covering her, shielding her from the storm's cool breath.
Slipping even further into my dream i wonder........
What is she thinking of? Still contemplating why she's here and not someplace else? Could she be wondering if she would've done something different, would that have changed her situation around? I hope not. I want her to think of how amazing the storm is.
I see her smiling..................
Maybe the first time she's really smiled in quite some time. And a beautiful smile it is. It's that kind of smile that makes the whole world stop and stare.......it's that smile that kills me.
And then I come back to reality........staring at the flashing mouse point where i left in mid sentence to dream up this little dream of mine. Neil Diamond's "You'll be a Woman Soon" is playing on the radio......and i can't help but laugh at the irony of this. She'll be a Woman Soon enough.
I listen to the last verse of the song:
"Girl, you'll be a woman soon
Please come take my hand
Girl, you'll be a woman soon
Soon, you'll need a man"
I imagine.............................
