I have been doing quite a bit of cooking since I last posted. I made some firsts in the last few months: risotto, polenta, fudgy cups, curry veggie dip, linguine, lemon bars with raspberry sauce, halibut, snapper, true basmati rice,
We also had some really great meals in New Orleans while visiting for a friend's wedding celebration and at some restaurants new to use during the Houston Restaurant Week - which was actually a month long. I think they are going to change the name next year.
Yesterday I tried a recipe from the Barefoot Contessa - lemon garden pasta. I added some fresh gulf shrimp from Rose's Seafood. Yum! A little too lemony, but a good first try. Today, new first - deer parmesan from my mother-in-law, with a few twists. I'll know shortly how it turned out!
