Notes: So.... this is the smuttiest thing I've ever written. *blushes* I know it's not nearly as smutty as a lot of stuff that's been posted in the J/A group, but it's the first remotely smutty thing I've ever written. So please be kind.

Annie found Jeff in a dark, empty hallway not far from the waiting area where the rest of the study group was. She watched him as he paced nervously, running an angry hand through his hair. He was so preoccupied he didn't even notice she was there. Leaning against the wall, she looked at the tiara in her hand for awhile, wondering exactly what Pierce was up to. Even if he was jusy playing a  mind game with her like he was with everyone else, it wasn't nearly as bad as what he was doing to Jeff. White hot anger ran through her at the thought, and she looked over at Jeff, who was still pacing.

"Hey," she finally said.

Jeff didn't stop his pacing. He merely looked over at her for a moment before saying, "I don't want to talk about it."

Annie just shrugged, looking back down at the tiara. "Okay."

After a few more paces, his anger seemed to diffuse a bit, as though Annie's presence was enough to calm him down. "Well, now the whole 'Disney Princess' thing is complete," he said, gesturing to the shiny object in Annie's hand.

She snorted as he came to lean against the wall next to her. "I'm just... trying to figure out what his angle is," she said. After a few beats of silence, she continued quietly, "He said I'm his favorite."

When she turned to look at Jeff, his eyes were glued to the tiara. "What do you think that means?" Annie asked him.

He shrugged. "Maybe you're just his favorite."

"You think?"

"Why wouldn't you be?"

He was smiling softly at her and she smiled back. For a moment Jeff forgot everything else that was going on and he just let himself sink into Annie's smile. But then his eyes were drawn back to the tiara Annie's hands were fidgeting with, and he remembered it all, the way Pierce was driving him crazy, the way he was trying so hard not to think about the nearly 30 years of abandonment issues he had with his father.

"Of course, it's Pierce, so he could also be trying to drive you completely insane," he said tensely, pushing away from the wall to resume his pacing.

Annie stayed leaning against the wall, watching him, and her patient silence was driving him nuts. "I don't want to talk about it!" he finally snapped at her when the silence became too much for him to handle.

"Okay. You don't have to." Jeff detected a note of amusement in her voice and looked over at her in annoyance, but by the time his eyes met hers she only looked sympathetic, and a bit worried.

"But," she said cautiously, moving away from the wall and placing a gentle hand on his arm, "you know that I'm here if you do need to talk. I'm here if you need to... anything."

He looked down at her face and he could tell she meant it. The feeling that gave him mixed in with all the other things he was feeling and his skin started to itch. He couldn't stand this, the waiting, the not being able to do anything. He couldn't stand it.

So he leaned down and he kissed her.

Annie stiffened under his lips at first, but soon she melted into him, wrapping her arms around his waist and kissing him back. Jeff cupped her face with his hands, pushing her until her back met the wall again. The kiss quickly grew heated as he tangled his hands in her hair and she ran her hands slowly up his back beneath his jacket. Annie pushed her body against his firmly, opening her mouth and meeting his tongue.

They broke apart, in need of air, and the stared at each other as their chests rose and fell heavily against each other. Jeff's eyes ran over Annie's face, her dazed eyes, her swollen lips, her blushed cheeks. He  searched for any sign of hesitation, and when he saw none he grabbed her hand. "Come on."

It didn't take them long to find a supply closet. "There's a shocking lack of people in these hallways," Annie said breathlessly as Jeff closed the door and pushed her against it. Annie placed her tiara on one of the shelves.

"I know, it's like nobody in this hospital does any actual work," Jeff agreed as he leaned in to kiss her.

This time, Annie didn't hesitate to kiss him back. She brought her hands to the back of Jeff's head, closing her fingers around his hair, holding his face to hers. Jeff intensified the kiss quickly, taking the opportunity to swipe his tongue into her mouth when she opened it in a sigh. She tasted like hospital coffee and the peppermints she'd been nervously chewing on all day. He pushed his body closer to Annie's, closing his hands over her hips possessively and pulling her to him, before bringing one hand up to the neckline of the sweater, fondling the top button for a few moments before one of Annie's hands moved from behind the his head to quickly flick the button open, giving Jeff the permission he'd been seeking.

They broke apart, gasping for air as Jeff began to trail kisses along Annie's jaw, down her neck, as he unbuttoned the top three buttons of her sweater before slipping his hand inside, running his fingers gently over the swell of her breast before gently palming it.

Annie sighed and Jeff felt her hips start to move against him. He pulled away from her neck so he could see her face. Her head was pressed back against the door, her lips swollen and parted as she breathed heavily, her eyes closed. He was stricken by how absolutely beautiful she was.

Her eys drifted open and when she saw him staring, her brow furrowed in confusion. "Jeff?" she asked, her voice thick and her breathing still heavy. Jeff smirked smugly at the state of her before bringing his thigh up between her legs and pressing it against her. Annie's eyes widened and then drifted shut again as he pushed against her more firmly. "Jeff," she sighed out. Jeff found her lips again, kissing her slowly as she began to move gently against him. His hand moved inside of her sweater as he kissed and suckled at her neck, finding a particularly sensitive spot and focusing on it. Soon, Annie stiffened against him, and then shuddered, his name leaving her lips in a gasp.

Jeff held her close, peppering soft kisses across her face until her eyes finally drifted open, a smile slowly covering her face.

"Hey," she whispered.

"Hey," he said back quietly.

He lowered his leg and Annie reached down to straighten her skirt. Jeff went to put his hands in his pockets awkwardly, not sure what to say next, when Annie leaned toward him, grabbing his face and bringing him down to kiss him. It took him a moment to recover from the surprise, but when he did he wrapped his arms around her waist, pressing her back up against the door. He was so lost in the kiss that he didn't notice Annie's hands trailing down his chest until they reached his belt buckle.

Jeff drew back in surprise. "Annie, you don't have to-"

Annie kissed him as she pulled his belt loose. She pulled back long enough to say, "Stop talking" before pressing her lips back to his while her hand found its way into his pants.

This was not what Jeff had expected when he'd pulled Annie into the supply closet, and he was pretty sure he was losing his mind. There was a part of his brain screaming at him that this was Annie and he needed to stop, but he couldn't bring himself to do it. Annie's hand closed around him, and gasped, breaking off the kiss and burying his face in Annie's neck.

It was clear Annie was no expert, but there wasn't a single part of Jeff the cared. She quickly found a rhythm, and between her warm, soft hand and the kisses she was pressing against his neck, the way she was nibbling his earlobe and licking the tendon in his neck, it wasn't long before he tensed against her, groaning her name into her neck.

Annie nuzzled Jeff's neck and ran her fingers through his hair as he caught his breath. Jeff wrapped his arms around Annie's back, holding her to him tightly before letting go abruptly, turning away from her as he pulled up his zipper and closed his belt. He took a few deep breaths before saying, "Annie, I'm sorry."

He expected a tantrum, a diatribe about how she wasn't a little girl. He expected at least a quivering lip. But when she said, "Don't be", her voice was almost airy. He turned to her, confused, still expecting to find her lips quivering. He was surprised to see that she was smiling softly. "I'm not."

"Annie, this doesn't-" He stopped, drawing in a deep breath. "We're not.... this doesn't change anything."

A look of sadness flickered across her face for the briefest moment before it was replaced with a gentle look. "Jeff, I know," she said, coming to stand in front of him.

He lookd down at her, completely confused. "Then why-?"

Annie took his face in her hands. "Because you needed it. No matter what happens, no matter what's going on, I love you. You're my best friend. I'm always going to be here when you need me."

Jeff gazed down at Annie. Any other woman would be angry with him after what just happened. Maybe insulted. He would most certainly end up with a slap in the face. But Annie... she was just standing there, looking up at him, her face filled with so much caring and love.

Letting out a breath, he leaned his forehead against hers. "I don't deserve you."

"Jeff," Annie said fondly. "Don't be stupid."

She leaned up and pressed a quick kiss to his lips before turning around to leave. Just before she opened the door, she turned around and said, "Really, if you need anything else, even if its just to talk, let me know, okay?"

He nodded and Annie gave him a brilliant smile before walking away.

Jeff sighed to himself as he picked up the tiara she'd left behind. He really wasn't good enough for her.

But he really, really wanted to be.
