I got to my favourite beach today for an hour or so. I almost had it to myself. Just some illegal kai moana collecting going on by natives who should know better. I have their car rego photographed and may send to DOC. sigh. I had a quick swim in the calm flat sea at very low tide but it was rather cold I'll admit. Good to get out there again but really sad to see how many of the native Puriri trees have now died (back). Stock damage, possums and die back that no one seems to be caring about even in a DOC reserve!
