Happy New Year
It's been HOT and sunny and rather awesome really. It was forecast to be up to 30˚C but seemed more like 27˚C. I went for a swim.
On Hogmanay I went to Wellington for the day and drove around the bays. Really liked this bench overlooking Lyall Bay near the airport. There was a badly planted Mo'ai sculpture that used to look out over the bay, sadly now toppled and broken. Hopefully the sculptor and installers will learn the obvious and it will eventually be fixed and replaced as it's a nice touch.
The evening sunset over Mana Island was gorgeous and just perfect over a calm sea. The air was obviously warmer than the cool sea temp thus creating the misty scene with the mountains of South Island poking through.
The evening ended by squeezing in lots of Ingress Missions... and lots more with pretty pictures (I only do those ones) to do ;)
