Jetlag over, lawns mowed, first hedge trimmed and even some cutting back started on the 'car' hedge. But I'm not the only one trying to keep on top of the hedges this summer it seems. Both naybors have been at it. It must be the weather...but it's turned cold and rainy so the full green bin hasn't been the only break on outside activity.
Yesterday, I think the starlings in the roof space above my head, fledged. there was commotion and much squawking. While I was making sushi I thought I caught sight of a black blob kindof falling in the alley between the houses. No sight of anything but calm seems to have returned. A robin was out last night keeping close to me as I cleared up and moved leaf mould from under the car hedge onto the grass in order to help raise the level a bit where it's been walked on.
Today I'm off to Embra for a few days to catch up with old college friends and celebrate another 50th birthday. Of course, the weather warms up in the south today and continues to be cold and rainy up north. Ce la Vie.
