Compared to my sister and much of my family when I was growing up, I always felt somewhat illiterate. While I've gotten better about it, I've discovered as I get older my tastes change and my interests in what to read

Heh - I didn't read it mainly because I've never been much of an Aurtherian fan, and I'd gotten too many discussions about it, it's relevance to feminism, etc, etc, blah, blah. So I stayed away from the Avalon series (yes, even the stuff co-wrote or ghost-written by DLP), and settled for reading just about every single Darkover book MZB wrote instead. The only one I didn't read was Heirs of Hammerfall, because I'd heard from those in the know it was mainly her frustrated desire to write a regency romance, and the only way to get it published was to set it in Darkover (mind you, given all the Jane Austen Tibet's been shoving down my throat, mayhaps I'll give it another try).

i think i read brisingamen before i actually met diana, but i may be misremembering the sequence of events after 20 years. anyway, i've only read a book or two by folks around the household, i have to admit.
