This weekend was eventful but I'm exhausted now! Yesterday I spent most of the morning/afternoon aboard Randstad's clipper ship, The Stad. The company was founded in Amsterdam in 1960 and several years ago there was a shortage of jobs over there, so they commissioned a bunch of people to build this ship. The crew sails it across the ocean once every couple of years and we all get the chance to go on it and sail around! It was docked near Government Center and we went way out past Boston towards Cape Cod, then turned around and came back. It turned out to be a beautiful day and it was very peaceful up on the deck. I felt like I was on a pirate ship!
Here are a couple of pictures:
Pretty cool! One of the few very awesome perks that come with my job.
Last night I hung out with Sean and Punk Rock Bill and we had a pizza party and put the finishing touches on the nametags and construction paper mural for the MS Walk while we watched "Home Movies" and "Mr. Show." Today was the actual 3-mile walk. It went pretty well, considering that it was quite chilly outside and it rained lightly for most of it. I had an umbrella, so I was okay. The three of us hung out again and had a good time. Plus, it was for a good cause! We got free drinks and food afterwards, too.
I'm so tired that I'll probably go to sleep even earlier than usual tonight. I SO don't want to go back to work tomorrow, but I've gotta do it I suppose. I'm hoping this week might be a little less stressful since Mary-Ellen will be back from Atlanta and I won't be doing her job and mine.
This is going to be an eventful week! I have two very awesome things to look forward to: The Kids in the Hall on Thursday and TMBG on Saturday. Knowing that those are coming up will help me get through it.
