Oh, my God, it's going to be amazing.
Is Nicola going to end up RESIGNING?! He did promise her a way out at a later date...?
I...okay, I've always thought Nicola would no longer have her job at the end of the series, but that gets complicated by the entire government probably not having their jobs at the end of the series. So I can see some crazy scenario wherein Malcolm, using Nicola as a mole, gets his revenge by destroying the Government, and then if there is another series, it'll be with Peter Mannion and his group as the Government, and Malcolm and everyone else being the Opposition. But I don't know!
She takes the rap for the crime stats fuck-up, Malcolm gets his job back because it makes Steve Flemming look like THE ROYAL DOUCHE THAT HE IS, she gets her way-out exactly the way she wanted in Episode 4.
Because this is perfectly plausible, too! Also, would lead to a crazy staring tension moment, which...JESUS, YOU TWO, I DON'T EVEN HAVE TO TRY ANYMORE.
