so basically i found a matcha shortbread recipe. since i love matcha, happen to have some of the high quality stuff that i dragged home from japan, and think there's a dearth of green and blue coloured dessert foods in the world, i had to try it. above: dry ingredients.
i skipped the rolling it into a pooh-shaped log and cooling it.
squished log into sorta-ovally (were supposed to be rectangular) shapes. rolled in thick granulated organic cane sugar, sliced, and put on parchment paper. notice the deep matcha colouration.

requisite pretentious super-close up shot of completed cookie. the green's mellowed out. the cane sugar melted just a little, so nomful. not too sweet a shortbread either. if you don't like matcha i don't recommend it. if you appreciate real matcha's slight bitterness, then this cookie will rock your universe. they're frickin delicious.
