dear the world at large:
today i got my septum pierced. i love it. its a teeny hoop. sort of cute meets badass.
it was kind of on a whim that i decided to get it done. i had been thinking about it for the past six months or so but i didn't want it enough to take the initiative to go and get it done before i could talk myself out of it. then today, at around four o clock, out of nowhere, my friend april called me to ask me if i would go with her to get her septum pierced as my other friend bailey was supposed to go with her and then cancelled. i agreed to accompany her and as i was waiting for her to get to her house i started thinking, "i should just get one too...." and i'm pretty impulsive like that. and the rest is history.
today i also got a lot of stuff done. cleaned a lot, went to knitting club, collaborated with some amazing people i have recently become friends with to make some paintings for the bare walls in my house. the paintings came out fantastic. i am in love with painting. and it's wonderful that i have been doing it more often. and that i am able to.
yesterday i rode my bike 10 and a half miles to newnan's lake. i am not sure whether that is inside the gainesville city limits.
i might do my internship at haleakala national park in maui, hawaii with a student conservation organization. it would be amazing. i also might go to yokohama, japan. i also might go to a hostel anywhere in the world. or the sustainability-concerned hostel in the forest in brunswick, georgia.
anything is possible.
i might start teaching pilates pro bono with some friends doing a co-op to promote wellness via exercise. pilates class at southwest is going amazing. last week my class was filled to maximum capacity (40 people) and people were asking if i teach any other classes during the week. sadly, i do not. i hope to in the future, though. and yoga too.
i have (and you can call this my official notice) decided that stressing oneself out and spending all one's time at a job in order to make a lot of money to buy things one doesn't need and which at don't make one happy is a ridiculous way to live. your job should be enjoyable and not your entire life.
the next time i buy tampons they will be organic and unbleached.
i am also trying to drink at least one cup of tea per day, sans sugar or its fake counterpart, for its ample health benefits and antioxidants. i am also trying to do yoga twice a week instead of once. wellness is the word. i love you all and i hope you all try to be as well as you possibly can be, too.
love,
me
