Quick Update: Same song, Different verse.....
Figured I should probably post something to say that I'm OK, and the family's OK, and that we made it through Wilma (who comes up with the names for these bloody storms, anyway??)...we still don't have our power back (which is why I'm typing this from my dad's office, which has a hook-up to a large & marvelous generator....& is where we've camped out for most of the week so far). Our yard is....well, it's not good. We've lost 5-6 very big trees, lots of roses, and some other rare plants that Dad was very fond of....everything looks like a tangled mess.
Fortunately we still have a house, minus a few shingles, and a car, and our lives. We're hoping that the power will come back on by the end of the week (we're not part of FP&L, thankfully, since our town has it's own plant)....it's incredible, really, the amount of damage done to trees and windows and power lines & supply stations throughout South FLorida. There are some areas where the power won't be restored for another month....so all in all, I'm quite thankful, but incredibly tired....
