By popular demand, we now have this: The Official Greenhornetfic Beta Reader Post!
A beta provides a service for writers in a rut. They offer themselves to do anything, from checking your spelling and grammar to making sure your plot holes are nicely filled. But as you may have realised, good Betas are incredibly hard to find! The people listed here are volunteers. They will be brutally honest about anything they find amiss. They will offer ideas and suggestions if you're having writer's block. They will not tolerate being flamed or insulted if the author disagrees with their opinions.
Be nice to your Beta, or the Green Hornet will show up on your front door and gas you.

If you want to sign up to be a beta, please comment on this post with the following information:
Username
Availability: Are you only available to read stuff on the weekends? Do you balk at the idea of beta'ing anything longer than 5k words? What limits are there on your availability to your writers?
Services Offered: If you're only comfortable checking spelling/grammar, that's okay. If you're willing to fill plot holes, that's okay too. What are you offering to do?
Will/Won't Beta: Is there a squick or topic you're uncomfortable reading? Does strong language put you off? Do you find certain things offensive? List your content limits here.
As a Beta, you are under NO obligation to accept a job that contains items on your Won't Beta list, and you reserve the right to REFUSE Beta services if you're far too busy in the real world. If you accept a fic to Beta, you ARE expected to stick with that fic until it's completion and posting. You do NOT have to remain a Beta for that same person for subsequent fics, unless they ask you to continue and you agree. You ARE responsible for telling your writers whether you want to be listed as a Beta in the post info when they post their fics.
