So how I did this I will never know, but I pulled out a ton of icons in the last 24 hours for theiconquest Chapter 2 Main. I decided on the hard level, and decided to icon a maker I'm starting to really miss - capelle now that I know they are on hiatus (hopefully not forever, but still, a hiatus is a hiatus.) :( Anyway, I decided on doing colorful icons with a glow to them, which I think was the style I most liked about capelle's icons over @ sexyhandcuffs.
[more ramblings to open the set up]For this attempt I decided to be inspired by capelle. I loved how bright and colorful their icons were, and the use of close crops and centered subjects with negative space. I really tried to make something very different for me, but still keep my style (so use of textures and gradients up the wazoo! These are all for classification Hero, a study in color. My chosen subjects were Firefly, Doctor Who, Disney Princesses (I've never really worked with animated caps before so this was...interesting.), and last is Merlin.
