Our Wedding, the church

Oct 30, 2011 22:52

The morning of the wedding Laura comes running in and waking me up "You're getting married today! Remember? Monica from Friends!" I'm pretty blank though, just seems surreal like I can't believe it's happening. So I get washed up, have breakfast and a little stress cry then I feel so much better. Laura's behind so I go myself to pick up Amanda and we head over to Silver Scissors. Outside is pretty gross. It's chilly and a bit grey but it's not raining.

All my girls plus mom and Thom's mom get our hair and makeup done there. I'm much more relaxed while I'm getting my hair done and I'm the last one they started on so all my girls are around me chatting and we're having a good laugh. But come time to get my makeup done I'm getting nervous again, so scared to walk down the aisle and hoping not to cry when it's just dad and me. Susan and Sara are behind on their makeup so the rest of us head over to Sharon's.

I'm totally in a trance so Florence is trying to feed me (had 2 mouthfuls of soup), Joy (photographer) is already there, it's just chaos with so many people and the guys are all downstairs so I'm wondering how Thom is doing. Then I get a delivery and it's a dozen roses from Thom and I'm trying not to cry over my card and then again when I read the smaller card on my flowers. Joy gets on our case to all get ready so we all get dressed but Sara and Susan are behind and Vanessa had to go downstairs to get Craig to do her dress up after 4 of us couldn't with those stupid zippers. I'm asking how Thom is and Thom's asking how I am and Vanessa said he's not eating but Craig managed to get him to have some crackers, haha. Sara and Susan showed up pretty soon then and I saw Lee sprinting across the lawn since he just got there, lol.

So my girls help me get dressed and Joy takes some pictures of us and my parents in front of the fireplace. She wanted Thom to come up to get some pictures with him and his parents so they all shoved me in the bedroom, haha that was funny. Casey (Sandra's daughter) was like my bridesmaid under cover, she was so helpful at the wedding. Helped us get ready, took care of the bouquets and got Thom mcnuggets!

Joy keeps us on time and tells us it's time to get on the go to the church. Dad and I get in the 1964 Impala and head over while mom and Vanessa drive over the girls. Joy was a great distraction and I was feeling better until we got to the church and I heard the organ music. All my girls are nervous too, haha, walking down the aisle and dad's trying to remember the order of give me a kiss, shake Thom's hand then hand me over and I'm just thinking "don't cry, don't cry, don't cry".

Then I walked down the aisle to Thom. :) When I get there he just kept mouthing "Wow, wow, oh wow" and I could tell he was trying not to cry so I whispered to him and started picking on him and he managed to blink it back, haha. It went so quickly, I'm glad I asked Uncle Todd to be our videographer. Rebecca (my cousin) did the first reading, 1 Corinthians 13 or "Love is patient, love is kind", then Jessica (Thom's niece) read Psalm 148:1-6 and Nicole (one of my best friends and bridesmaids) read Mark 10:6-9. Then it was time to say our vows and when Thom was saying them to me I got so overwhelmed so when it was time for me say mine I cried. I couldn't believe I was a bride who cried, it was the last thing I would have thought. I was sure I would with walking down the aisle with dad or when I danced with dad but not when I said my vows. I managed to compose myself pretty quick though. Alysha (Thom's niece) read the prayers of the people, a few more prayers were said and then Thom kissed me. :) (to which Reverend Tanya White whispered, "You're up to 45 from 75", haha!)

We then walked out and greeted everyone as they left. Thom's 100 year old grandmother nearly took us off our feet when she greeted us and we stayed to get a bunch of pictures with her inside the church after everyone left. I went and spoke to mom while Thom was with his family and Jessica walked up to me, "Congratulations Aunt Megan" and I nearly died, haha. I have 3 nieces and 2 nephews now!

We all went down to Bowater park and got our pictures on the newly redone side. Thankfully it wasn't that cold and we got some amazing pictures. After we got the wedding party and family Joy took us down by the water and on the river bed and in the woods and we got more beautiful photos. While we were doing this Susan and Laura went with mom and dad for McDonalds while the rest of the bridal party ate at A&W all dressed up, haha!
