Alex looked up at the front door to Gibbs' house taking a deep breath before making his way toward it. Jen wanted him to handle it so he was going to but he was going to give Gibbs a chance to have some input as well. He knocked on the door and waited.

He's alone. It's a rarity anymore, but Heather took the boys with her on a mommy-son date and he's using the time to work on Daniel's bedroom furniture. So, it takes a few minutes for him to process that there was a knock on the door and even another few moments to realize the person doesn't know that most of the time, the door is open. But it does process and he takes the stairs two at a time, aching knees and all. When he sees Alex on the other side, he panics for just a moment, but then realizes if anything had happened to Jenny, Alex wouldn't take the time to drive over. So he opens the door and looks at the other man. "Hello?"

"Hello,"Alex nodded politely,"There is something I would like to talk to you about."

He steps back and nods to the living room. "How can I help you?"

He headed into the living room,"I had a talk with Jen about setting up a memorial stone at the house for Lucie and then going down to our beach house to have a little private memorial on the beach."

Well, if there's anything about Alex, at least he's straight and to the point. "I see." He tries to not be too uncomfortable with the idea. He's had his issues with the whole situation, and a few stressed out moments before he could talk to Heather, but he's definitely not as connected to the whole thing as Jenny is or even Alex. But this, he knows, would really help Jenny. And he also knows that she'd need him there. It wouldn't hurt at all. In fact, it might be good.

"Neither thing is going to be over the top. Besides letting you be there at the memorial the beach house will also give her the chance to reconnect with Heather without us having to be on top of each other,"he was being very straight to the point but he thought it was best. "I was also wondering if you wanted any say in Lucie's memorial stone?"

Gibbs nods, really liking the idea of Heather and Jenny reconnecting. They need that. It's the one thing in this whole mess he actually regrets - that he came between them. As for Alex's question he pauses, seriously considering for a few moments. "What does Jenny want?"

"She is having me handle it. Right now I'm not so sure she could look at some of the stones without losing it. I get they're supposed to comfort people but really some bad choices,"he shook his head. "It's not going to be an actual grave type stone. I was thinking something small, maybe a nice saying on it. I did have the idea of putting it beneath a flowering tree."

Gibbs is more worried about the first comment, the idea that she doesn't seem ready for something like this. But then again, how long did it take for him to really be ready to accept Shannon's death? Even after he met Heather it took a long, long time. There was a reason they didn't run off into the sunset right away and it wasn't just because they were scared of upsetting her nicely set up life. So he nods. "No, an actual stone might not be a good idea. And I think your ideas are good." He pauses. "You should do it in French."

He looked thoughtful at the French idea it could have some merit. "Most of the actual stones that would be a good size for the backyard have little baby angels or small child angels on them and that seems like a horrible idea. That's why I got the idea for something smaller."

"Smaller is probably good. It suits her better." By "her" he means Jenny. But really, all he can think is that it should be in French. Other than that ... he really had no say in any of this. Yes, it hurts that Jenny lost the baby, but his mourning has been different.

Alex nodded,"Alright, when is better for your family to go to the beach house?"

He almost says that whenever is fine, but Daniel is in school. Yet, he knows Heather won't be too squeamish about him missing a couple of days if they have a week to set up his homework and such. He also knows that the next time Charles gets Daniel is over Thanksgiving, so they're in the clear. Daniel won't be missing time with his dad. "I'd have to talk to Heather, but sometime after next week is probably fine."

"Alright get back to me and let me know or just have Heather call Jen. I'll be able to get everything set up by then,"he nodded.

Gibbs nods. "Good." Then he pauses, not really wanting to let Alex out the door without asking. Heather has reported back and she's worried. But Alex will have a different perspective. "How is she?"

"Depends on the day. Sometimes she's up and doing seems quite a bit like the Jen I first met. Sometimes she's not big on getting out of bed or off the couch so I hold her and we don't do much that day,"he shrugged though he worried himself.
