[EDITOR'S NOTE: I don't know where the concept that "The BBC believes most people will have read only six" of these books comes from. There's no link offered with this meme. In fact, if I had to guess, I'd say that this list was compiled of books many people have read specifically to make people who fill this out feel like they've read a lot of books. Heck, I've read 19, which is well over 6, and I know that if I'd actually read all the books I was assigned to read in high school, there would be at least 4 more.]
