my head is filled with visions of fabulous suits

It's all about White Collar and Inception in my brain lately.

I find myself in that new fandom infatuation period where I accidentally stay up until 2 am reading fic. It's been a while since I've felt like this. I've missed it. This is helped by the fact that T was away the beginning of last week and then again this week which means I cannot continue with our Mad Men watching (halfway through S1, loving it) and am forced to do other things.

I had started watching White Collar back as S1 was airing and I loved it, then I got stalled in the middle of the season for some reason that I can't fathom. Last week I decided pick it up again and BAM. Instant obsession. Watched the second half of S1 as fast as possible and then S2 started. How fortuitous! I'm not sure how I managed to miss the extent to which WC is so gloriously OT3 before. Or that Matt Bomer is fucking sexy as hell. Or that the writing is so damn good. Neal's suits, though, I'd always noticed the suits. And Diana's return just adds even more awesome to the awesome that was already there.

And then there's Inception. Goddamn, but do I ever love Christopher Nolan's brain. I can't remember the last time T and I spent the entire drive home from the theater talking about nothing but the film we just saw (actually I think the last time that happened might have been The Prestige so go Chris Nolan x2). I know the film is really about Cobb and all but I only have eyes for Arthur (and Eames with Arthur, and Ariadne with Arthur). JGL you grew up FINE. I mean I knew that but I didn't really KNOW that until I saw him in a tailored three piece suit 'cause. DAMN.

I love love love all the speculation. I've been reading a lot of theories, etc. It goes like this: I think that the end is reality, real reality and Cobb really does get to see his kids. The top is going to topple we just don't see it (and how much do I love that that's how it ends, with and implication? So much. I actually let out a little woop and clapped when the screen went black). But I think the whole rest of it (or large parts of it anyway) was an inception on Cobb orchestrated by Arthur (and Michael Caine) to get Cobb to let Mal go because it was fucking up their work. A long con. Ariadne and everyone else was brought in to help but Cobb thought they were just doing a job. I haven't quite figured out at which point it goes from being Cobb running things to Arthur running things though. I may just have to go see it a third time to get that sorted.

But though I enjoy my theory (and all the others) I really don't care about any of the theories at all in relation to fic. There I just care about Arthur. Yes. *basks in shiny new fandom glow*

inception, white collar
